Lisa asks…
Are there any consequences for cutting finger and toenails too short?
I've been cutting my finger nails and toenail to the pink part since I could remember. Are there any consequences for me doing this I should be aware of?
Arline Burnett answers:
If you have been doing it that way for a long time, and nothing bad is happening,. I think you are doing it okay. I like to leave a little nail as I need them to scratch and scrape things. But sure enough I have to cut them back more if I want them to be clean underneath the nails.
Maria asks…
is it bad if my toenails are too short for a pedicure?
I think my toenails are too short. What will that do for my pedicure?
Arline Burnett answers:
Same here, no matter how long I go they never grow out. They will just have trouble evening them out with an emory board but nothing will happen. My nail lady always teases me and says aww her toes too cute! And shows the ladies next to me how small they are. Oh and if you get like crystal details added they may not fit a little toenail, I know from experience. I wanted swarovski crystals but she painted asian looking flowers instead even though my big toe nail is decent size. *sigh*

Nancy asks…
My dog's toenails were cut too short and they won't stop bleeding, what do i do?
My dog had his toenails trimmed and the lady cut them WAY too short, on two of them i can see the flesh and stuff (it's really gross) and they won't stop bleeding, if he touches something w/ it, it'll just gush blood...cornstarch won't work very well. What do i do!?
Arline Burnett answers:
If the toenail is cut too short, you can use a styptic pencil containing silver nitrate, or stypic powder. Wet a cutip, dip in the powder, and apply to the bleeding nail. Even without any treatment the nail should stop bleeding in about 5 minutes or less.
